Chill Leggings Are The. Best. Ever.
What updates have you made to our fave basic legging? We know that Aerie girls love our basics, so instead of completely changing what she has been buying for years, we’ve just made it better…softer and more comfy! We made our waistbands wider and more comfortable in both the regular rise and high rise styles.  Before we had heavy elastic waistbands in both styles and we took on the challenge to make them more flattering and comfortable. Our high rise has a tall waistband creating a smooth long line, and our regular rise waistband has a soft skinny elastic at the top edge to ensure that it will stay up. You wear-tested the new fabric in house with Aerie girls. How did this impact your final design? We make sure every team member has a part in our wear test process – including girls from our Buying team, Design team, Production teams…as well as a few yogis around the office.  We want to make sure we have a range of all sizes and body types to ensure we’re getting well-rounded feedback! We use our wear tests to check for a number of things – fabric performance, opacity, and fit. Each wear tester wears and washes the garment as many times as possible during our testing period to properly evaluate the legging.  We are fanatics and wear test EVERY new fabric, fit and detail!  We are wear testing ALL the time!! (You should see my legging drawer (s) !!) What’s special about the new Feel Comfy fabric? We are all about SOFT at Aerie. So, our new Feel Comfy fabric is now softer than ever!  To do that, we’ve blended our cotton quality with polyester for an amazing handfeel.  The addition of the polyester helps with color fastness as well…your favorite black leggings will stay black longer than ever after being worn, washed, and loved!
