This August, a group of friends old & new came together in NYC to get REAL about what it takes to be a good friend—and what we all need in return—at every stage of friendship. If you couldn’t make it, your friends are still here for you! Watch #AerieREAL Role Model & Self-Care Activist, Iskra, #AerieREAL Role Model, Gold Medal Gymnast & Advocate, Aly Raisman, Model & Activist, Hunter McGrady, & Model, Natalie Gage, come together for a conversation moderated by Aerie’s very own Manager of Brand Experience, Jill Maurer.

If you don’t have time for the full Real Talk, hear from Iskra, Natalie, Aly & Hunter on what’s most important to them to share with their friends, & what they need in return.

Friendships & romantic relationships can be tricky together. Hunter, Iskra & Aly shared their tips for finding balance:

“I have to have my girl time & he has to have his guy time… I think it’s important to have those times—it makes your relationship healthy.”

– Hunter

“You’re definitely going to need to talk to your girlfriends about some things that you can’t talk to your partner about. There’s a balance there.”

– Iskra

“When some people get in a relationship, they want to be with that person all the time & it can be really hard to confront your friend [about it]. Honesty is very important. We’re all trying to figure out how to be the best friends.”

– Aly
