Try Iskra’s tips for holiday self-care:
- Take it all in your own time. Don’t feel forced or pressured to do anything that feels like too much.
- Check in with yourself. Over the holidays, you may spend time with friends or family that you haven’t seen in a while. If anyone says something that doesn’t make you feel great, remember that is most likely a reflection on them, not you. No one knows you better than you do!
- Find 5 affirmations or 3 positive words that remind you of your worth. Say them to yourself at least once a day.
- Don’t compare yourself or your situation. This can be a time of excess & sometimes it’s hard to see others buying expensive gifts or going on fancy trips. If that’s not you, that’s ok! Do what’s right for you & focus on your own situation, not someone else’s.
The holidays are a time to be happy, make memories & be grateful for what you have. Take care of YOU & you’ll be able to enjoy every moment.
