What is the best fabric for a sweatshirt?
We always recommend fleece as the ultimate cozy choice. Fleece is brushed into a soft, fuzzy fleece texture that keeps you warm but doesn’t make you overheat. It is durable, resists shrinking, and is warmer than plain cotton.
Which fabric is the absolute warmest option for winter?
If you want maximum heat, look for our Sherpa or OFFLINE by Aerie® Cloud Fleece. Heavyweight fleece has a denser weave that blocks the chill better than standard sweats, while sherpa acts like a wearable blanket by retaining body heat in its high-pile texture.

Will my sweatshirt shrink in the dryer?
Many of our sweatshirts are cotton blends, which need proper care to prevent shrinkage in the wash. To keep your fit perfect, we strongly recommend washing in cold water and air drying (laying flat). If you must use the dryer, use the lowest heat setting (tumble dry low).
How do I keep the inside fleece soft and fluffy?
The secret is to wash the hoodie inside out. This protects the soft inner fibers from friction. Skip the fabric softener (which can coat fibers and reduce fluffiness over time) and air dry.
My sweatshirt is “pilling.” Is this normal?
Super-soft, brushed fabrics can naturally pill over time due to friction. To prevent this, avoid washing them with heavy items like denim or towels. A simple fabric shaver can restore them to looking new in seconds!
Why is my sweatshirt shedding fuzz everywhere?
This is common with new fleece items. It’s called “linting.” To stop it, wash the item alone (inside out) for the first 1-2 washes. You can also run a lint roller over the inside before wearing it over a dark shirt.

Absolutely! This is a classic streetwear look. For the best fit, choose a thinner, standard-fit hoodie (not oversized) so the blazer arms aren’t too tight. Pull the hood out over the blazer collar.
