With the launch of our newest activewear collection, OFFLINE by Aerie, we wanted to give you a guide on how to care for your newest sports bras, leggings, and more! Read on below to see how to keep your fave OFFLINE pieces so fresh and SO clean.

Turn inside out

When you’re washing your sports bra, bike shorts or leggings, be sure to turn them inside out first. This can reduce the outer fabric from pilling or snagging as well as ensuring the *sweatiest* parts of your pieces are cleaned thoroughly.

Wash right away

By washing activewear right after your workout, you’re reducing bacteria growth and odor. If you can’t wash it right away, immediately rinse it or leave it to soak in cold water.

Add salt

Adding salt to your laundry may sound a little strange, but trust us on this one! It helps keep the color of your OFFLINE activewear fresh (and the colors bright). A little goes a long way, so just use one teaspoon per load.

Wash separately

Be sure to wash any activewear separately to avoid snags or rips and any possible color transfer. You can wash your fave OFFLINE pieces together, but try not to combine it with your regular laundry.

Hand wash or wash on delicate

Hand washing your activewear is the best way to ensure a lasting workout piece. If you don’t have time to hand wash, make sure you’re setting your washer on the “delicate” setting to avoid any adverse effects.

Hang to dry

Avoid using your dryer to dry the clothes and instead hang them to dry! This helps any items keep their original shape and helps the fabric maintain integrity. No clothesline? Hang it in your shower!

    Hello,

I have loved my aerie crossover leggings, but I have recently run into issues with them. I’ve barely had them a year and there’s already so much pilling and I recently noticed a hole. Is there anything that you guys can do for me?

    Thank you

    1. Sina

I’m having the same issue, has anyone found a solution?

  6. Ashley

i washed my cross over leggings once incorrectly and they haven’t been the same since. definitely disappointed but i should’ve been more careful. wish it wasn’t so difficult to keep the leggings nice!

can I return pilled flat eleggings… only had them for around two months and they're pilled all along the back of the thigh.

  8. Haley

I have worn my offline leggings once and they already have a hole on the side.

  9. Tien

Don’t iron them…I tried and it melted for some reason and messed it all up which was a waste of money bc the cross over flare leggings are not cheap. I’m really upset because nowhere did it say you aren’t supposed to iron it and you can iron almost any piece of clothing

    Hello,
I love my aerie crossover leggings I have 4 pairs of them but I have had them for less than a year and they are ripping so easily. Also pilling all over the butt and inner thighs. I love aerie and these were my favorite leggings just very disappointing. Is there anything you can do?

  11. Annabella

I just bought the crossover brown legging and there is a dark line down one of the legs and they haven’t been washed nor has anything been spilt on them… not sure what the line is, kinda just like discoloration but not too sure. Anyone have any ideas?

  12. Tara

Wore them twice, already pilling and has a hole, very dissapointed.

  13. Samantha Lee Donjon

I bought a pair of aerie leggings that are black and when I tried them on you can see a dark black line down the side? Is that from the dye? Didn't know if it would wash out? Will probably just return.

  14. Sidney

After washing my leggings I have permanent lines in them. I have no idea what it is from and how to get rid of them. They looks like dried wrinkles almost.

  15. Sab

The crossover leggings start pilling so fast and they literally snag on everything. I've had mine for just over a week and they already have snags all over them and the thighs are pilling like crazy. Once it snags it starts to make a hole really fast too. Super disappointing because they are super comfy and not that cheap? Is there anything that can be done?
