This World Kindness Day, the Aerie Real Foundation and AE are donating $100,000 to Delivering Good! Delivering Good provides people impacted by hardship with new clothing & other items through a national network of community partners.
This year, Delivering Good will use their donation to help thousands of people. In addition, Aerie donated 100,000 bras to Delivering Good that will go toward their 1 Million Bras campaign. This campaign aims to bring the retail industry together and donate 1 million bras to women and girls across the U.S. who are dealing with issues like homelessness, domestic violence, poverty and other challenges. Can you tell us about what Delivering Good does & how it works?
Delivering Good unites retailers, manufacturers, foundations, and individuals to provide people impacted by poverty and tragedy with new merchandise, effectively distributed through a network of community partners to offer hope, dignity and self-esteem to at-risk children, families, and individuals.
What will you use the $100,000 donation for?
This grant will be used for a continuation of the program the Aerie Real Foundation and American Eagle have supported for the past year: a year-long effort to distribute brand-new clothing and essential goods to girls and young women living in poverty nationwide. Over the past 12 months, we have already seen the enormous impact and personal, transformative effect this program has had on the more than 15,000 women and girls reached through our work. Now, with your help, we have the opportunity to continue and expand this aid, changing tens of thousands of more lives in the year ahead, and showing once more how the Aerie Real Foundation and AE have the power to make the world better for women and for all of us.
Delivering Good’s solution to the crisis of need and poverty is simple but transformative. By mobilizing the donations of manufacturers and retailers across a wide range of apparel, home, and children’s goods companies, our organization is able to provide high-quality clothing and material items to low-income recipients at a ratio of $10 worth of products for every $1 granted to our program.
Thus, with a grant of $100,000, we will provide a minimum of $1,000,000 worth of brand-new clothes, home goods, children’s supplies, and vital daily necessities to low-income women in three selected regions over the course of the following 12 months.
