I’ve been low waste for 3 years, so I’m still learning and growing in what having an eco-friendly dog looks like, but I’ll share my tips and tricks that I’ve discovered along the way. Keep in mind, this is what works for my lifestyle so you may want to do more (you may want to do less) and that’s okay!
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 2/3 cup pumpkin puree
- ½ cup peanut butter
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Combine all ingredients
- Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface (1/4 inches in thickness!)
- Cut into desired shape (like bones!)
- Bake until golden (20-25 mins)
- Let cool
Waste disposal with your dog is SUPER IMPORTANT. You want to be respectful of your neighbors AND the earth.
My furry friend, Jaxon, is just that… VERY FURRY. (You can ask any of my friends that he’s shed on!) Compost what you can and utilize reusables that will last.
Have any additional ideas for me and Jaxon that you think are paw-sible? Or maybe wondering about something we didn’t mention? Let me know in the comments!
