We hope you’ve been enjoying all of our OFFLINE Movement Series routines and we’re kicking off the year with a new video from fitness pros Isak Spaniol and Savannah Lemke! They’ve teamed up to bring the Aerie fam a special circuit and yoga routine, so get ready to work your limbs and then cool them down as you follow along with the session.

Before you dive into it all, you’ll meet our Senior VP of Design, Andrea Jagaric, who helps lead the team that creates all your fave OFFLINE (and Aerie) pieces! Then, continue watching the video to see Isak and Savannah demonstrate some of their favorite movements. And don’t forget to learn more about their backgrounds in our quick Q&As!

Name & Location: Isak Spanjol; Born in NYC, I live in Greenwich, CT.

What kind of workouts do you teach?

I teach SoulCycle (indoor & outdoor fun/high-energy party on a bike). I teach Bodyweight Bootcamp/HIIT classes (live and online). [And] personal training — I train people of different backgrounds, abilities and ages to help them achieve healthy body and mind.

What’s your advice for people who are just starting their fitness journey?

Loving your real self is the first step, moving your body is the second. Our bodies are made to move, movement is natural to human beings, it leads to a healthier body and mind, and our happier selves.

What’s your favorite fitness move?

Music has always been my inspiration so any move to a beat is my favorite!

What is your advice during these times to continue a workout routine without having to go to the gym if you don’t have access to equipment?

To survive in these times try to give yourself time to develop a habit to exercise at least 30 minutes on most days. You do not need any equipment to go out for a brisk walk, to run in the park or to take a bodyweight HIIT class with your friends on line in your own home.

Name & Location: Savannah Lemke (@savvyseel); New York, NY

What kind of workouts do you teach?

Vinyasa yoga, yoga sculpt & meditation.

What’s your advice for people who are just starting their fitness journey?

Go slow, pace yourself, be patient and enjoy every little success :).

What’s your favorite fitness move?

It’s such a toss-up for me!! Probably a tie between a headstand or you can never go wrong with a good old-fashioned squat.

What is your advice during these times to continue a workout routine without having to go to the gym if you don’t have access to equipment?

It’s really a matter of perspective and your self-talk. Are you telling yourself you can’t work out without a gym? Then instead of a workout think of it as movement. Movement isn’t just about physical health; it can change our state of mind and improve our mental health. Start small, maybe just aiming for more movement in your day.

Getting outside for a walk, doing some squats while you brush your teeth or if you’re feeling adventurous some jumping jacks while you wait for the microwave can all qualify haha. Make it fun rather than an obligation. And as you move notice how you feel, it can be tough to start but once we realize how great movement can feel it’s hard not to want to move (and don’t worry if there are days of zero motivation, we ALL get those).
