Cleo is an artist and poet on a mission to tell the world about the powers of love, the impacts of community and the importance of social justice. Her book Heart Talk: Poetic Wisdom for a Better Life is a powerful compilation of notes, poetry and advice. If you didn’t know by now, her real power is LOVE!
Cleo shares love with everyone she meets, and she recognizes that when it comes to sharing the love with yourself, self-love is a constant process:
“There’s no way to wake up in the morning and decide that you’re going to be confident. I truly believe that confidence is a practice. I think that every single person has the ability to give themselves a pep talk. If you can create a practice where you can build yourself up with the language inside of your head, then I think you have the ability to live through your insecurities and not allow them to be what drives your life.”
“I think my personal style depends on my mood. I feel that what you wear is the perfect way to express how you’re feeling that day.”
“When we express our stories as women and we tell the stories of our journey, we give the next generation a starting point and a template when they’re looking to find themselves. And then of course we want them to bust that template wide open and make it bigger and more amazing than we ever could. Every role model is a starting point for another young woman.”
